Frozen tropical Smoothie – GF, DF & Ve

 

Still obsessed with smoothies, maybe it’s because of our new blender – I’m not sure, but I love how quick they are and make a quick healthy snack. They’re a great alternative if you’re getting a craving for ice cream and don’t have any in the freezer.

I recently posted a berry smoothie recently which you can find here if you’re looking for more ideas along with tips for things to do with bananas that are starting to get a little too ripe!

You can use fresh or frozen fruit for this recipe, I like to use a combination so it makes a cold thick mixture without putting too much pressure on the blender!

 

INGREDIENTS (Makes 1):

  • 1 Banana (I used fresh)
  • A handful of cubed mango (I used frozen)
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1 tbsp dried coconut
  • 1 tbsp Chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp Maca powder
  • Pineapple juice
    • top up as needed, this will affect the consistency of your smoothie so if you prefer a thin texture add more and vice versa. Just check the model of your blender to see how much liquid you need to add so you don’t break the motor!

I add oats to make it more filling, especially if I’m making a smoothie for breakfast because I get hungry so quick. Fruit alone isn’t enough to keep me full for any length of time!
